Lambing may be said to have fairly commeuced. Some made their appearance before the week of blizzards, and a few succumbed to its severity, together with some of the older sheep. The weather lately has been avast improvemeut, although sharp frostsiave been experienced at nights. lepase of any prolonged spell of bad wem her, the stock have not the usual amount of rough feed in gullies and like places to tide them over the worst, as they cleared all that kind of feed out during the drought. From present appearances, it seems as if all the ploughing will be done before the spring starts. With the exception of paddocks where lambs are still ou turuijis, all the usual ones aro turned over, a,ucl fresh ones are being broken up. The social on Friday night was sparsely attended, but those who were present made "up in spirit what was wanting in numbers, and the gathering ran its full course to the small hours of the morning. Although several dogs have come to an untimely end through trespassing on forbidden laud, the sheepworrying continues. One night last week six sheep were kil'ed by a dog or dogs.
