WARD-PIKE.

At Knox Church, yesterday, Miss Ethel Pike, second daughter of the late Mr J. Pike, of Te Whiti, was married to Mr Ernest Robert Ward, of Hawke's Bay. The bride's dress was of ivory satin, trimmed with darned silk Brussels net, accordeon-pleated chiffon, chif roses aud orange blossoms. Miss Annie Pike (sister of the bride) and Miss Ada Ward (sister of the bridegroom) were bridesmaids, their drseses being of white silk, trimmed with Valencieunes lace and insertion. The dresses were all very pretty, and generally admired. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr William Pike, Mr Leonard Holloway acting as best mau and Mr Walter Pike as groomsman. The bridegroom gave the bride a gold brooch set with rubies and pearls, and the bridesmaids gold sapphire brooches, the bride giving the bridegroom a pair of gold sleeve-links. The Rev. A. T. Thompson performed the ceremony, after which a reception was held at the residence of the bride's mother. A large party assembled on the lawn, where a commodious marquee was pitched, m which the wedding breakfast was held. Another party was held in the evening when a pleasant time was spent. The couple left for Christchurch by

the south express, the bride's travelling dress being a tailor-made navy blue costume, with a cream hat trimmed with blue ribbon and pink ribbou.
