His diet is carefully regulated, being spariug in quantity, while meat is reduced to a minimum. His allowance of the strong green cigars, of which lie used to consume so large a number, has been cut down to two or three a day, and he seldom smokes a pipe. In the afternoon he usually rests for several hours. His constant attendants are Mrs Chamberlain, to whose tender and unremitting care so much of his recovery is due, and Mr Wilson, who for so many years has been his private secretary.
