LONDON MARKETS

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable messages from their London House, under date of the 12th inst. :—

Butter.—Market firm. The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ended 7th inst. amounted to 75,000cwt, as compared with 74,000cwt for the corresponding week of 1906, showing an increase of lOOOcwt. Finest 118s, unsalted 116s. The market is firm owing to Christmas trade.

Frozen meat.—Lamb —Prices are steady, but prime quality is scarce. Mutton—Price's are weak, and, if anything, tending downwards. Beef— Hind-quarters, prices are easier. Hides—Lower by %& per lb. The market is very dull," aud there is nothing doing."
