ST. BRIDE'S CONVENT.

ANNUAL BREAKING UP,

Ou Thursday eveuiug the pupils of St. Bride's Convent held their annual breaking-up concert in St. Patrick's Schoolroom, when a packed house of parents aud friends of the pupils attended by invitation.

The Very Rev. Dean McKenna was in the chair, and in a characteristic speech congratulated the pupils aud their teachers on the excelleut results of the year's work. Iv the many classes of importance conducted at the Convent, not a single failure had been recorded, aud such a result, said the Chairman, showed not ouly how good had been the tuition, but how apt had been the pupils. Iv the music, shortbaud, painting aud book-keeping sections of the curriculum excellent work had been accomplished, and the success of the pupils was creditable to them in the highest degree.

The following very interesting and enjoyable programme was rendered during the evening. The instrumental selections are worthy of special mention, as the very youug pupils played without music several most difficult selections, and after only a very short acquaintance with the pieces rendered.
