A British warship seized a quantity of stores, coal, arms aud products of oxide mines belonging to a Germau firm at Moenckhaus, on the island of Abu Musa, in the Persian Gulf, on the ground that they were contraband of war.
Germau and English firms hold concessions from rival Sheikhs, who each claim authority over the island. Some Berlin newspapers angrily attribute the action of the British to jealousy at the competition of Gorman shipping
companies
