Heavy Crop of Mangels
The judges, Messrs R. J. Dagg and J. Morris, have, after four days' arduous work in very unfavourable weather, completed the judging of the crops entered in the above competitions. Ridged Swedes. —Three competitors only entered in this section, and the judges placed them as follows: H. Evans 1, Wm. Perry 3, D. McGregor, senr., 3.
Flat-grown Swedes. —Five competitors made six entries, ana the places awarded were: Walter Cameron 1 and 2, J. C. McKillop 3.
Mangels. —Three fields were entered in this competition, the order of awards being: E. J. Haigh 1, T. P. Lett 2, H. Evans 3.
The winner's crop in the mangel competition worked out at 126 tons 8 cwt per acre, a very heavy crop.
