MATIVE LANDS.
A Gazette notice that lias been issued announces that a meeting of the Te Ikaroa District Maori Land Board is to be held at Hastings on the 18th inst. Applications relating to lands in the Wairarapa district are to be adjourned for hearing at Master'ton or Wellington, as may be arranged, if the parties interested so desire. There are about a. hundred applications for consent to lease, in nearly every instance for a term of tweuty-ono years, large areas of hind in the Hawke's Bay district. The largest area applied for by one person is 52,755 acres, but there are twenty-four sections or blocks applied for ranging between 1000 and GOOO acres each. The Board recommends the removal of restrictions on the sale of Akura Be, No. 1, and Ngapuketurua No. 3, the. applicants being respectively Messrs J. Cummins and J. Tatham. Applications will be made for the removal of restrictions on sale as follows:—
Tntaehaohao No. 4, (J. H. Tatham),
Maugatainoka. J. No. 1 (Rakiwhata. Peeti and another), Akura No. 14b (Whaitiri Waimarama), Whareama, section 884 < Taiawhiote Tau), Mangatainoka 1 B.C. No. 2a (H.P. Takiririrangi), Pahiatua Native Reserve. (Ereue te Aweiuve), Maugatainoka J. No. 4b (Ereue te Aweawe). In no instance are the areas given. The Board has power only to recommend His Excellency the Governor to remove restrictions ou sale. The Jury family, through their agents, Parata and Co., are applying to have the restrictions removed on their interest, in the Pukengaki block.
