NAPIER, Last Night

At the Supreme Court, to-day, the Grand Jury returned true bills in all the cases, except those against Thos. Cyril King and John Patrick McCarthy, both charged AvitJi indecent assault. Autoni Montecive, found guilty of theft, Avas sentenced to four mouths' imprisonment. Michael Barry. Avho pleaded guilty to stealing from a dwelling, was remanded for the report of the Probation Officer. lAvi Katlierine Rangi MacAndrcAV, a Native girl, pleaded guilty of theft, and Avas admitted to probation for two years, on the understanding that she entered St. Mary's Home, Wellington, and did not leave it during that term. John Mitchell pleaded guilty to setting fire to his dAvelling-house at Wairoa. but on his behalf itAvas urged that the burning had been done in pursuance of a Native custom to destroy the belongings of a departed relative, the man's Avife having just previously died in the house. No claim for insurance money had been made in connection Avith the fire, though the house Avas insured. The accused Avas ordered to come up for sentence Avheu called on. Kopa Kimahanga, a Native, charged with several offences, including horse-stealing Avas convicted and sentenced to three years' imprisonment. Teotene Tipu, a Maori, pleaded guilty to horse-steal-ing, and Avas sentenced to six months' imprisonment. Joseph Borlace pleaded guilty, aud received a sentence of nine mouths' imprisonment for stealing from the person. Phillip O'Brien pleaded guilty to assault and robbery, and Avas sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
