HOLYROOD CHAPEL.

London, Yesterday.
Owing to the impossibility of restoring Holyrood Chapel (Edinburgh) without injuring its historic character, the trustees of Lord Leven's will have decided not to apply to that work £-10,000 which he left for the purpose.
[Holyrood Abbey was founded in 1128. The place is famous as the residence of Queen Mary, and the scene of the murder of her favourite, David Rizzio, in 1566. The palace, after destruction by the English in 1544, and further partial destruction by Cromwell in 1650, was re-built by Charles 11. after the Restoration.]
