GLADSTONE NOTES.

(Special to Daily Times.)

A meeting of the Gladstone Sports Club was held in the Hall on Saturday night. The following officers were elected:—

Patron, Mr W. C. Buchanan ; president, Mr W. Strang ; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Strang, J. Parsons, A. Turner, A. Clark. Mr S. Dalgliesh was again elected secretary. It was decided to hold the sports on Anniversary Day in the same place as last year. A committee to draw up the programme meets to-night.

Miss Manning, head teacher of Te Whiti school, has been appointed to the position of sole teacher at the Ponatahi school. Mr Gibb, of Wellington, is in charge at Te Whiti.
