MASTERTON BOWLING CLUB.
Opening of Season.
There was a large attendance, including a number of visitors from Carterton, at the Masterton Bowling Club's green, yesterday afternoon. The green was somewhat heavy after the rain of the previous night, but it played fairly well, and improved as the day advanced. Music was supplied by Mr Reihana Boyes , string band, while afternoon tea was provided by the ladies. A number of games were played during the afternoon, the results being as follow :—Messrs Parker, Long, Elliot and Whittaker (skip) ,26 beat Messrs Smith, Wright, Carpenter and Ramsay (skip) 16 ; Messrs Robieson, Evernden, W. Pragnell and Fisher (skip) 22 beat Messrs McPhee, -Wallace, Eagle and E wington (skip) 19; Messrs Feist, Chamberlain, Yates and Masson (skip) 22 beat Messrs McEwen, Boyle, Whyte and Townsend (skip) 15; Messrs Hughan, Prentice, Mutrie and Dupre (skip) 21 beat Messrs Krahagen, Williams, Rollings and Downard (skip) 15 ; Messrs Townsend, Parker, Creswell and 0. Pragnell (skip) 29, beat Messrs Bulpitt, Feist, Johnston and Rose (skip) 17.
All those members who wish to attend the tournament at Petone on King's Birthday are requested to hand in their names to the secretary (Mr E. Rose) without delay.
