(By Tehijroph — Press Association.) Christchurch, Friday. Very little is doing in the wheat market' and prices are unchanged. There is a fair demand for oats, but few buyers are willing to give the prices demanded by sellers. The volume of business done is consequently restricted.

The price-offered for potatoes is £11, but holders want £12. Potatoes seemed to be very scarce yesterday, and quite a dearth was experienced.

Further heavy rain has fallen in North Canterbury district, and will hold back ploughing and the sowing of grain. It is now nearly too late to expect much progress in this direction this season, and grain crops cover a limited area compared with formeiM^
