A WHALING EXPERIENCE.

Father Saved by His Son.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

Blenheim, This Day,

A young man named Harry Norton, a resident of the old whaling station at Te Awate, was presented with a gold medal and an address by the Mayor in recognition of a deed of bravery in saving the life of his father in June last. They were fast to a whale, and the boat was rushing along in a rough part of Cook Strait, when Norton, senior, was knocked overboard. His son jumped over and held him up till he was rescued.
