(Received To-day, at S.3S a.m.J London, Last Night. A piece of machine) y, in falling, killed
Commander Phillips, of the Victorious, '|l|k. while directing salvage operations in connection with the repair of the ship Assis-
tance. [A cable message, a few days ago, stated that there was a rock sticking through the bottom of the repair ship Assistance, which recently went aground off the coast of Africa. The Victorious is a first-class battleship of 14,900 tons, 10,000 horse power. She is the flagship of the Second in Command of the Channel Fleet.]
