CARTERTON NOTES.

(Special to Daily Times.)

The Wairarapa and East Coart P. and A. Society have received 301 entries in poultry for their annual Show, to be held here next week. Last year the Society received 186 entries in this class. Thus they have an increas3 this year of 115 entries. I am glad io be able to report that Mr J. S. Pepper is now well on the way to convalescence, after his recent illness. The children of the local State School assembled at the S:hool Grounds, on Friday morning, and hoisted and saluted the flag in honour of Trafalgar Day. The headmaster, Mr C. N. Haslam, delivered a short address to the children, explaining the reason of the celebration. At the West Turatahi Sihool concert and dance, held on Tuesday evening last, over £.o was taken at the door.
