MASTERTON GYMNASIUM.

Presentation of Prizes

A successful gathering was held at the Masterton Gymnasium and Physical Training School, last evening, when the medals won during the recent competitions were presented. There was a large gathering, and after the presentation of prizes dancing was commenced, and kept up till an early hour this morning. During the evening the members of the ladies' class gave an exhibition of dumb-bell exercises, and the mon gave an exhibition on the horizontal bars. Medals were presented by Mr W. 11. Jackson (VicePresident) to the following successful pupils: —Ladies : Misses 0. Wintringham 1, Moore 2, M. Stempa 3. Maids : Misses M. Wintringham 1, A. Chapman 2, E. Chapman 3. Girls: Misses 11. Fuller 1, A. Jackson 2, D. 0. Moore 3. Men : Messrs A. Williams 1, J. Mcllattie 2, J. Bradbury 3. Senior boys: R. Yarr 1, S. Hogg 2, 11. Williams 3. Junior boys: E. Wickens 1, D. Hipkins 2, A. Ward 3. The senior and junior boys received silver medals and the others gold medals. Mr Jackson also presented to the instructor (Mr A. Jeuiss), on behalf of the pupils, a handsome gold albert, suitably inscribed.

Refreshments were provided by the ladies, and the music by lliss Infield.
