THE WEATHER.
It w r ould seem as if consecutive days of fine weather need scarcely be looked for just yet in Wairarapa. Last night there was a moderate rainfall, but this forenoon there was a downpour—of short duration, but of abnormal quantity. During the short period that the visitation lasted, exactly a quarter of an inch of rain fell, and the street waterchannels all overflowed with storm-water, until gradually relieved by discharge into the various gratings. After the shower the weather cleared, and once more it was verdant spring, though present indications are against prolonged fine weather. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AVellington, This Day. Heavy rain set in about 10 o'clock this morning and there is every prospect of the afternoon being showery. Dunedin, This Day. In consequence of the steady rain the Navy League's demonstration at Forbury Park has bceii postponed till 9th November.
