THE BRITISH ARMY.

London, Yesterday.
MrH. 0. Atnoki-Forster, Secretary for War, speaking at Croydon, said that he was able to prophecy with certainty that the army three years hence would be on a better footing than for years as regards armament, artillery, training, manning,cavalry, strength of reserve, stores and equipment. He sometimes feared, he said, that nothing would bring the nation to a sensible state of mind regarding the army but a tremendous defeat.
