Hastings Training Notes.

Hastings, Last Night.
Most of the horses were out this morning. Soultina and Faro traversed a circuit, the former finishing first, strong. Cuneiform galloped four furlongs splendidly. Mystification did a mile and a quarter resolutely, and Melodeon was given half-pace work. King Billy and Boomerang had trotting exercise. Hikaroa, Reservoir and Romany covered five furlongs at a strong pace, Reservoir finishing in front. Loiret and Watts' English colt covered six furlongs, the latter coming on fast. Moscow and the San Fran—Maude filly went four furlongs, finishing abreast. Douche left a mile behind in splendid time. Polyanthus, Probable and Mahutonga were associated in a six-furlong gallop, Probable making the big horse gallop, and holding him fairly safely. Starshoot, Aorangi and Dalny did half-pace work. Operetta, Whakawehi and Gold Seal finished five furlongs iv that order. Mataika beat Lurcher over six furlongs, and Martyrfeldt finished well in front of Cinque in a spin over the same distance. Waipunehu, Mecca and Lord Rosebery galloped five furlongs. Needlework and Matepiro covered a mile, finishing together ; Catspaw spun over three furlongs at a smart pace ; Rose Madder did a pleasing mile gallop; Splendid Idea and Little Mary sprinted over four furlongs ; and Heroism very easily accounted for Cavill over a circuit. A large number of horses were given slow half-pace work.
