The Booth Cup.
Carterton Defeats Greytown

The match, Carterton v. Greytown, for the Booth Cup, was played on the Carterton green yesterday afternoon, when Carterton defeated Greytown, the total scores being— Carterton 107, Greytown 54. The second match will be played at Greytown on Thursday next.
The Masterton green was in capital order for yesterday's play. There was a large attendance of players, and a very enjoyable afternoon's sport resulted. Afternoon tea, which was greatly appreciated, was supplied by Mrs J. M. Coradine.
Results of the play are as follow :--Final for the Levin medals—Messrs Cochrane, Bogey, Mntrie, and Coradine (skip) 28, beat Messrs Townsend, Johnston, E. Yates, and F. McEwen (skip) 21.
For the McEwen Ferns, the challengers, Messrs Carpenter and J. Whittaker (19) defeated the holders, Messrs J. W. Cochrane and J. Elliott (18).
Handicap Singles.—Yates 23 beat A. Rollings 16, J; C. Ewiugton 19 beat. J. Smith 18, P. L. Hollings 33 beat G. Long 18, J. Carpenter 2-i beat C, Perry 12, Major 30 beat Hollings 17, Major 24 beat Smith 20.
Champion Singles.-- J. C. Ewington 18 beat E. G. Frost 13, J. C. Ewington 17 beat E. J. Rose 16.
All matches for the Hallenstein trophy must be played by to-morrow.
