THURSDAY CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

A special;meeting of the Management Committee of the Masterton Thursday Cricket Association was. held in the Club Hotel, last evening, for the purpose of considering Mr E. Welch's motion, notice o£ whice was given. at last meeting. There were present: Messrs F. Haughey (in tho chair), E. Welch, J. Wickens, A. Pragnell, J. Prendeville, F. Redmond, F. Welch, W. Barlow and J. Bradbury (Secretary). The motion read as follows :—" That it is desirable in the opinion of this Committee to limit the competition for the Henderson Cup to one roxind, owing (1) to the lack of time to play more than one round, and (2) to the fact that no grounds for play in Masterton, will be available after the end of April; also ; that if the round result in a tie between any I two or more teams for first place the Committee shall order such tie to be played off at the discretion of the Committee in a decisive manner, the winner of such match or matches to retain the Cup or other trophy ■ according to the condition on which such : trophy or trophies were given for competition." The motion was seconded by Mr J. Wickens. Mr J. Prendeville moved as an amend ment that a second round consisting of one innings matches be played. Mr Redmond .seconded. ; After considerable discussion the amendment was carried by four voles to three. Mr E. Welch moved that if the Carlton C and Star B retire from the competition, their Clubs have power to transfer them to the other teams belonging to the same Club, which are still competing. Seconded by Mr Barlow and carried.
