MR J. C. WILLIAMSON'S NEW COMEDY COMPANY.

Specially organised by Mr Williamson for the purpose of presenting in Australasia all the latest and most successful high class comedies of the Knglish stage, his new company, which, it is announced, will appear here in the Town Town Hall, on Friday evening next, is said to be composed of some of the finest artists ever seen in the colonies. They will have an opportunity of displaying their ability hero in the comedy " The Marriage of Kitty." which bears the hall mark of London approval, and it is from the French of Madame Fred D. Ciersac and Francis de Croissot, adapted by Cosmo Gordon Lennox. It was played for two seasons in London, and contemporaneously mado an enormous success throughout America. Mr Williamson first presented it for the approval of the Australian public in Adelaide on Easter Saturday last, and the impression it created and the success achieved may be gauged from the following taken from the review of the production of the leading journal:—" It opened with good report, and the wine of comedy flowed and sparkled for two and a half hours, and. when it was all over, the crowded house I'ose to its feet and cheered for several minutes. It was all very delightful, and the audience drank the pleaauro with infinite relish. 'The Marrige of Kitty' was a rare treat, and there was just that touch of pathos to perfect the comedy. Amid the laughter came a little lump in the throat, tears commingled with smiles for one brief spaco, and the success of the play was assured." This flattering encomium has subsequently been emphatically endorsed in Melbourne, Sydney, and yet again in Auckland, where the comedy was played to overflowing houses, so that these can be no question as to its brilliancy and attractiveness.
