Sydenham Hurdle Handicap, 1$ inile. —Hippowai 1, Cavalry 2, Huku 3. Also started—Tupara, Medallius, Scottish Minstrel, Haukapu, Lissa, (Jathenno Gordon, Zealous, Merry Boy and Talune. Tupara fell early, and at the mile post Hippowai showed the way just clear of Zealous. Entering the straight Zealous fell back and CavaL'y, Huku and Catherine Gordon moved up. In a great race Hippowai lasted Jong enough to win by half a length from Cavalry, Huku being a similar distance «uvay. Time, 3min 22 2 £>see. Dividends, £7 8s and £2 Ms 6d.

Hunters' Plate, H- mile.—Jolly Roger 1, Haweia 2, Brookside 3. Also started—Eurus, Early Van, Fore?, St. Reef, Plantaganet. Won by two lengths ; a similar distance between second and thtrd. Time, 2min 5-1 sec. Dividends, £5 10s Gd and £1 11s.
