How Pork Went up

At Pcmborton, the other day, an enthusiastic settler invited his neighbours to conio along and see him blow up some stumps with Tbingnetite. After the charge had been deposited and the fuse lit, the party went to a safe distance to view the explosion. Just about that time Mrs Pig and three or four porkers came through the slip-rails from round the corner and started to investigate. The settler in loud agitated accents called to the pigs to go away, and the members of tho party gesticulated wildly and yelled " Shoo !" But the animals wandered up casually and began fco sniff round in search of novelties. Then the explosion happened, and threo or four hundredweight of pig went hustling into space, and landed with a thud against the adjoining fence. Tho farmer felt hurt ; but the pigs didn't —they were past caring!
