An Enormous Attendance.
Many Rushing the Fences.
j#y Telegraph — Press Association^
Wellington, This Day.
Before uiid-day there were many thousands of people on the ground, and scores are rushing the fences.
Two thousand persons were waiting outside the Athletic Park gates when they opened at 10.80.
Since then a steady stream has poured in.
At 12.30 it was estimated that twenty thousand persons were present, and there is every probability of the gates having to be closed long before the match starts.
Vehicles of every description have been commandeered for means of transport.
The beautifully fine weather has contributed largely to the record attendance.
