Wellington Sheepskin, Wool and Hide Sales.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—At our sale, on Friday, we offered nearly 20.00 skins, 82 bags wool, and a number of hides. There was good competition for everything, and prices obtained were satisfactory. We quote : Sheepskins. —Merino, medium, 6d to 7d; fine crossbred, s|d to 6J; medium crossbred, 5Jd to sfd; coarse, 5d to 5Jd; dead skins from Bid to 4^d; lamb skins, £U to sid; pelts, 6d to Is 4d. Wool— In bags": crossbred fleece, 4id to SM; pieces, 2d to 2£d. Hides—Cow, from 12s to 17s ; os, 20s to 22s 6d; calf skins, to Is 6d each. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report: — We offered, on Friday, 1700 skins and a large quantity of bag wool and hides and tallow. There was an excellent demand for skins, and prices tended in sellers' favour. We quote:—Merinos, 6-i-d to 7d ; half-breds, 6d to 6id; fine cro3sbreds, 5M to 6d; coarse, 5d to 5Jd ; dead, SJd to 4d; pelts, to Is 4d each. Hides— Thera was a better selection than usual, and prices were firm. Ox hides, 17s 6d to 28s; cow hides, 18s to 16s 6d. Tallow—Good mixed, 20s to 20s 6d: Station fat. 17s to 18s ; rough fat, 13s to 15s. Murray Roberts and Co., report as follows:—W 7 e catalogued, on Friday, about 30Q0 sheepskins, when prices were generally about par to a farthing per lb above last sale. We quote :—Halfbreds and merinos medium, sfd to 6fd per lb; fine crossbreds, 5M to 6d; medium to coarse crossbreds, 5d to 5M ; short to half-wooled crossbreds, of d to 4f d; dead and hoggets, ofd to 5Jd ; lambs and medinm to fine, 4fd to sfd ; pelts, 6d to Is 4d each.
