MINISTERIAL RECONSTRUCTION.
Plain Speaking,
Ministerial Failures
Once again, saye the Dunedin Star, we declare that pubic opinion calls for the wiih-lrawal of the Ministerial " failures " ; and it may be added that the change ought to be effected before Sir Joseph Ward sets out on hi 3 visit to Europe. Iα filling the vacancies, Mr Seddon will have to exercise his best tact, with a view of satisfying the geographical and other necessities of the situation ; but probably it would be well to give another Minister to the North Island. "We say this without prejudice to the principle which we have formerly supported - namely, that the comp ;si» tion of a Ministry ought not to depend on geographical or insular issues. But the good people in the North are not yet educated up to this point of political disinterestedness : and the Premier may think it abvisable to humour their local predilections to some extent.
