THE CHAMPION AXEMAN OF NEW ZEALAND.
According to tho Secretary of tho Now Zealand Axemen's Association, C. W. Casey, of Eltham, tho Now Zoaland champion, has just finished the soason's sport, with a splendid record indeed. Ho started from scratch in twclvo different chopping contests this season, and has drawn prizo money overy timo. Ho has given as much as 75secs start in 18m blocks, and lOSsecs in 2ft, and has met as many as 27 competitors in one event. It is Cnsoy's intention to attend the next Tasmanian Carnival on November 26th and 27th, with a viow of competing for tho world's championships. He i 3 also a first-class sawyer, and will probably go close to winning the single-handed championship here next season. Casey's parent's resido in the Eltham district.
