AN APPEAL TO THE CHARITABLE.

A residont of Masterton has been, for somo time past, sending occasional parcels of used stamps to an unfortunato invalid, living at Halcoino. Tho recipient writes as follows :—" I thank you most heartily for them. I am a helpless cripple, unable to do anything for mysolf. By selling what used stamps are sont to mo, I am ablo to get a few shillings, with which 1 can purchase a little tobacco and somothing to road. 1 hopo you will try and get mo all tho stamps you can. I only got ono penny per hundred for penny stamps. I am quito unable to work, having to crawl on my knees and left hand, my right hand being quito useless." A parcel colloctcd by little Miss Bina Amokura Duncan, of Masterton, has been sent on to the poor old fellow, and any others left at tho Daily Times oilico will be promptly forwarded. It is an exceptionally pitiable caso, and was first mentioned somo littlo time ago in a paragraph in the Rangitikei Advocate.
