(From Our Own Correspondent). On Monday night a concert was givon in tho Hull by tho scholars of tbo State School. Tho attcndanco was very largo, and tho performance passed off most successfully. Tho first part, consisting of soirgs and dialogues, was followed by a cliildron's oporctta, " Tho Fanoy Dross Ball," tho various characters ol which woro dono full justico to by thoso taking part.

Prizes for tho work of tho your wore thou awarded as follows, in order of merit. Thoy wero distributed by Mr G. Garratt (chairman) and Mr Maxtcd (secretary of Committee) : -

Lett a hearty vote of thanks was tendered to Mr and Mrs Mason and to Miss Wilson, the assistant teacher, who ably played tho accompaniments and also contributed two piano solos during tho evening.

Tho room was then cleared for dancing, during which a number of Maoris gave ix lino exhibition of singlo and double poi dancing.

Mr Smith, assisted by others, con tributed tho danco music.

Tho friends of tho lato Mr F. W. Cullimore, woll known about Taucru. will regret to hear of his doath, in Wellington, on Sunday lust.
