CRICKET.
Writes our Greytown correspondent: Great interest was taken in the cricket match between the " Baillie " Boys, and a combined team of W.F.C.A. and Standard, played on the Reserve on Thursday afternoon. In the first innings the " li.B's " made 64, tho combined team compiling 71. In the second innings tho " B.B's " put up 51 for 8 wickets, tho not out men being G. Nicol '20, McLaren 10. The Rev. A. M. Johnson and W. Toomath filled the position of umpires. Afternoon tea was provided by the lady friends of each team. The match will be completed next Thursday afternoon.
A costume cricket match is likely to take place, at Greytown, shortly, between teams of the opposite sex, the proceeds to go towards the funds of the Wairarapa Hospital.
As showing the interest taken in cricket in Masterton, a team from W.F.C.A. intend visiting Eketahuna to play a local eleven next Thursday ; on the following Thursday they will probably play a match at Carterton.
