Flogging Subalterns

U&ceived To-day, at 9.17 a.m.) |V London, March 6. li_tb.e House of Commons, Mr Brodrick explained that the attention of Lord Roberts had been privately called to the flogging of subalterns in the Grenadier Guards, by order of an unofficial court-martial. Lord Roberts directed that an enquiry should be held. Lieut.Colonel Kinloch, commander of the Fourth Battalion, had been cornpulsorily retired, because he was unaware of the irregularities in the regiment.
