THE CIRCUS.

Fitzgerald Bros.' mammoth showr arrived in Mastertou, to-day, and give an exhibition, this evening, for night only. The site is near the Eailway Station, and a very comprehensive programme will be given, some of the items being sensational in the highest degree. One of the startling acts, to be intro-

duced for the first time in Masterton, tonight, may be thus described:—"A quartette of cyclists, consisting of Miss and Master Delavale and Messrs Shand and West, ride within a miniature track, which is built up within the otduiary circus ring. Six e'yents, of varying degrees of sensatior}, are got off at"«reaf speed, the cyclists at times riding at an angle of 65 degrees. At one time, two of the cyclists rode to the right, while a third rode to the left, the effect being j extremely novel, and cleverly carried out; again, one of the men rode round the I track with a boy on his shoulders; and the turn concluded with the four riders racing each other round the track at top speed." The other features of the huge combination are all of exceptional merit, and wherever it has exhibited since its return to the Colony the audiences have been most enthusiastic in their appreciation of the marvellous displays of equestrian skill, as well as other feats of physical strength and agilitydeveloped by scientific training. Fitzgerald's great combination always draws immense audiences, as the menagerie £k wild beasts is alone worth seeing. TheUt will be no second performance in Masterton, as the big show will " move oq " forthwith towards the Bush districts.
