W.F.C.A. v. Scratch Team.
Tho abovo match will be played on school ground, tomorrow afternoon, play commencing at 2.15 o'clock. The Scratch Team will bo represented by the following:—Bringezu, T. Flaws, B. Iveson, J. Jackson, S. Kingdon, I. Marsh, Mulholland, Pacey, J. O'Leary, V. Richards, A. Styles. Members of the abovo team are requested to bo on tho school ground, this evening, at six o-clock, to assist in preparing a pitch. The Selection Committeo of the W.F.C.A. Cricket Club met at the conclusion of their meeting, last night, and the following team was chosen to represent the W.F.C.A., against tho Scratch Team, on Thursday:— J. F. Williams (Capt.), E. R. Gee, J. Wyber, A. Welch, J. Berry, Ivy O'Connor, F. B. Haughy, H. C. Welch, A. Edwards, W. S. Jago, C. C. Smith; emergencies, F. O'Connor, G. Stewart, W. T. Smith.
At a well-attended meeting of the W.F.C.A. enthusiasts, held last evening, Mr E. B. Gee was appointed to the chair. Arrangements were made for properly carrying out cricketing afiairs for the remainder of season, and to put the Club on a good footing for an early start next season, when it is hoped Masterton will have a Thursday Union. Mr Williams was unanimously appointed captain. Only committees were appointed, it being considered too late to appoint a president or other officers. Selection Committee: Messrs J. Berry, S. H. Ralph, and J. F. Williams. General Committee: Messrs E. It. Gee, S. H. Ralph, F. Haughy, W. W. Chambers, and J. Berry. R. Callaway, brother of Sid Callaway, ex-New South Wales player and Canterbury and New Zealand " rep," has been appointed to umpire for New South Wales against Lord Hawke's team. The England v. Victoria match commences at Melbourne on March lUth.
