THE STANDARD SURVEY QUESTION.
Protest from the Borough
Council.
It will be remembered that a month, or so ago Mr Mountford, who was engaged on a standard survey of the Masterton Borough, was recalled by the Department, notwithstanding a strong*protest from the Borough Council. A letter was read at the Borough Council meeting, last night, from the ValuerGeneral intimating that Mr Moiintforii had been recalled, owing to the existing urgency for surveying Crown land. The Mayor stated that the survey should be completed as soon as possible, and he moved that the Ejepartment hi notified tb,at the Council is desirous oj having the SJandarcJ Survey continuejLwithout unnecessary 'delay. ' ~j^£ The motion was agreed'to, Mention was made of the fact that the Council had waited 20 years for a Standard Survey, and there were properties in the Borough where the actual boundaries could not be ascertained.
