Masterton Stock Quotations.
Mossrs Lowos and loms, Ltd., report regarding their Masterton stock sale yesterday:—We submitted a good yarding of shoop and an unusually hoavy yarding of cattlo. We established record prices for both fat shoop and cattle for this season; in fact, wo now hold the proud position of having secured tho highest price ovor obtained in fcho a salo yardin the Wairarapa for a fat cow, viz., £11 2s 6d. For fat wethers mado a record for this soason, viz., 17s 3d. Competition for fat stock, in both sheep and cattle, Was koon throughout, and all lots sold readily under the hammer. Wothers sold readily, and hoggots wore well competed for to certain valuos, but failed to roach owners' idoas at auc-
tion, but tho whole yarding of hoggets was disposed of at good figures privately. Ewes in lamb also found eager buyors, and a better feeling was exhibited for all classes of sheep. Cattle were tho chief feature of the day's operations, and wo submitted some really well-bred and high-class cattlo on account of Messrs G. W. Mace, J. Strang, Goo." Hume, Gray Bros., Charles Harris and F. Moore. Beef was of superior quality and sold at good prices, and at a dis-
tinct advance of our market' a fortnight ago. Full-grown bullocks also sold freely, and young well-bred cattlo brought par-
ticularly good prices. Fat wothers, on behalf of F. Moore, made 17s 3d, other vendors, 15e to 15s 6d; fat ewes, 10s to Ms ; forward wethers, up to 18s; owes in lamb, 9s to 10s 6d; hoggots, from 6s 6d to 9s 9d ; for exceptionally good storo wethers, 8s to 103 Gel. Fat cows, on account of Mr George Humo, £8 2s 6d to £11 2s Gd; bullocks on account of Mr Geo. Drumrnond and Messrs Williams and Beetham, £8 12s 6d to £9 7s ; fat cows, on account of Mr F. Moore, up to £8 16s, on account of Messrs Williams and Beetham, up to £1 4s; bullocks, on account of Perry Bros., £9 7s 6d ; forward bullocks, on account of Messrs Gray Bros., £6 12s; on account of Mr W. B. Buick, £6 16s; other vendors, up to £6 7s 6d. Mr G. W. Mace's shorhorn heifers made £0 11s; Mr Geo. Hume's yearling steers, £3 15s; Mr J. Strang's weaner and yearling cattle, £2 8s 6a, £3 Is, and £3 9s ; other weaners down to 80s; springing heifers, from £4 to £6 10s; cows in calf, up to £5 10s; empty heifers, £3 5s to £3 15s; empty cows, £3 17s 6d; bulls, from 80s to £6; pigs, poor sorts, dull of sale.
