London, August 26. Tho Australians in thoir first innings inado 232, and Middlesex, in thoir second innings, havo lost ono wickot for 15. Tho woathor was hot, with tho wicket foster than yestorday. Kelly and Hopopened tho Australians' innings. Kolly was quickly disposed of. Trumpor and Hopkins carried tho total to fortyfour before tho pfiir woro separated, Hopkins being caught by Hoaruo. Trumpor, at this point, completed his 2000 runs for tho tour. Duff joined Trumpor, but only added 5, while Trumpor put on 23 and brought his half-century up. Duff was bowled by Hearne, 3 for 73. Hill succeeded, and got into doublo figures, whoa Trumpor was splendidly caught by Trott. 4 for 102. Tho retiring batsman made soven fourcrs and six threes. Hill and Noblo woro now togothor, and scored stoadily, tho former oventually being caught by Bosanquet, off Hoarno. 5 for 133. Darling was stumped after making half-a-dozen. 0 for 144. Arm* ■-• strong followed. Noble was hitting vigorously at times, but was dismissed at lunch by Trott. 7 for 167. On resuming, tho light w%s very bad. Gregory knocked up fifteen, then he gave a chance to McGregor, which was accepted. 8 for 202. Trumble* succeeded, but only made four. 9 for 213.
