{.From our own Correspondent.)
A concert in aid of the Building Fund of St. Aidan's Church was held in the Alfrcdton Town Hall on Thursday evening last. The weather was fine, and the venture proved a very successful one in all respects, the standard of excellence which has hitherto been attained in
Church concerts in Alfredton being well sustained. Tho local performers were assisted by Mrs Mathicson, of Ekctaliuua, and Key. Wyndhain Eaiee, of Masterton, tho latter of whom found the demands of his audience well-nigh insatiable.
The following was the programme:— Part I.: Pianoforte solo, Miss Beresford; song, "Beautiful Isle of the Sea," Mr Percy; song, Mrs Galbraith Wratton ; song, "Sleep on, Dear Love," Mrs Mathicson (encore " Beauty's Eyes "); song, "The Mariner's Guide," Rev. Wyndhain Earoo (encored); recitation, "Obedience," MissE. Rutherfurd. Part ll.—Pianoforte solo, Miss Boresford; song, Mrs Mathicson (encore, " I couldn't, could 1 ?"); song, "Whisper and I shall hear," Miss Wratten (encore, " The Link Divine "); song, " Tho Lily of Laguna," Rev. Wyndhain Earco (encore, "The Sailor's Life "); " National Anthem."
