First Annual Meeting.

Dividend of Seven Per Cent,

There was a fair attendance of shareholders at tho first annual meeting in connection with Messrs Lowes and lorns, Ltd., held in tho Company's office on Saturday afternoon. Mr George Heron occupied the chair. The report and balance-sheet, which has previously been published by us, was submitted; aud iv moving the adoption of tho same the Chairman expressed satisfaction at the gratifying results of the short period of tho Company's existence, which he attributed to the careful management and business capability of Mr F. C. Lewis, their manager. Mr C. 11. Smith seconded the adoption of the report and balarco-sheet, and the motion was carried unanimously. Messrs J. Macara and John Frasor were re-elected (unopposed) on tho Directorate for the ensuing year. A hearty vote of thanks was passed, on tho motion of Mr C. H. Smith, to tho Chairman and Managing Director; and a vote of thanks was also passed to the staff, Mr Lewis eulogising the zeal and ability of the several members.
