At a meeting of the local branch ol the Farmers' Union held on .Friday, several recommendations from the Executive Committee were discussed and adopted. A shilling subscription in aid of the sufferers from the Cheviot earthquakes was taken lip, and all present subscribed.
The Featherston Dairy Company received cable advice that the first eonsigjjjtent of cheese per Gothic realised s.l.sTHpt>r coloureds, 52s for white. Troopers Porritt and "Jim " Douglas, members of the Eighth Contingent, have been on a farewell visit to relatives and friends in this district.
