Eketauuna, This Day
The telephone line is now finished to
Nireaha, and awaits the oflieial authority Jl6o be put to use. The district is a very closely-settled one, and is some distance from Eketahuna by road; the telephone shouM* therefore be a great convenience idTjßkttlers. Mr C. Edmonds had the misfortune to have a valuable horse kicked on Saturday. The animal had to be destroyed. It is a pity that the only pleasant resort in Eketahuna should be made impossible to the ladies on Sundays by the bands of bathers who disport themselves there almost all day. There arc plenty of holes just as near to town, and out of sight, which could be used by the bathers if they chose to avoid being a nuisance in the way referred to.
