APPLICATION FOB A SAWMILL SITE.
An application by Mr J. C. Ewinglon for a site, belonging to the Masterton County Council, on which to erect a sawmill, on the To Ore Orc-Bidcfovd-road, near the bridge, was considered at the meeting of the Council yesterday afternoon, The Engineer's report stated that there was considerable risk to the travelling public if the mill was erected on the site applied for. The road was narrow, unprotected, and dangerous, and traffic would come suddenly into view of the mill, 13y constructing a substantial fence, the danger would be somewhat mitigated. Mr,Ewinglon attended the meeting, and asked that if the Council resolved to decline sanctioning the erection of a sawmill on the site which was applied for, would they allow him another site further back on the same section.
