Tho prospects of a speedy conference between the Federated Employers and the Engineers are declining, Sir Barnes, secretary of the Engineers' Society, states that if tho employers insist upon the elimination of tho demand for reduced hours tho men will refuse to participate in the conference,
John Burns says he does not regret the temporary diversion of trade caused by the strike if it results in breaking the tyranny of capital.
