(From Our Own Cvimjmilciil) Tuesday. On Saturday mid Sunday evenings j tlie Jley. J. S. Smalley provided two excellent nights' entertainments with his magic. lantern. Unfortunate as usual with the weather, the Jievd. gentleman yet obtained good audiences on liulli evenings and sent all home delighted with what they had seen, and amply repaid for turning out in the rough weather. The entertainment on Saturday evening was loin; and varied, including '• Parley's tihosl," e.u adaptation of '"TheC'hrisimas (.'and," "A Trip up the Thames," and " I'mple we meet in j l/'Uidin;," The views ol all were excel[lent, and the ligures good, being taken Iroin lile rondels, lint these last were excelled hy those on Sunday evening in "The Way tn Heaven" anil "The, L'hilil of I lio Toy Stall." The ligures |in these are uiiiioiililedly the iicst Mr j Smalley lias shown here. The palliclic I.'■lory ill'the little hul in "TheV, r ay to | Heaven," was listened lo with breathless jinterest hy all present. On Saturday levelling Mr llees greatly enhanced I lie ! worth of ihe programme by his splendid |rendering of three songs, "Children's Wees," "The Fisherman and his Child," and tin' "Did I'nstie Jiriilge" lOn Sunday evening ihe views were interspersed with hyni'is which were I thrown on the sheet liy the lantern, and sung hy ihe whole congregation. Mr Charlton happened lo lie in ihe 'J'aucni on business, and was pressed into the service by Mr Snuilley, playing in his well-known style all the accompaniments on both evening. Theeonneciiye readings were given liy Mr C'hulwiii. The building of the addition to Ihe svhool has hi'i'n started al last and should soon be completed. A supply of desks was received oil Monday. A Sunday School has started, and gives eycrv promise of great success. It is intended lo hold classes every Sunday, Mr (I. 1!. (iarralt having undertaken the Stiperiiitendcncy. He is nbly assisted by several young ladies, and assistance will be sent from Alasterton whenj cyiT possible,
