GREYTOWN NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). Wednesday. ! At a meeting on Tuesday night n chess club was formed for Greytown of about sixteen members. A meeting of the committee in connection with the return hospitality lo the Maoris, was held at I lie Council Chambers last night, The finance committee reported progress, anil that the amount of CIS) 10s had been subscribed in money and kind. The mating was adjourned till Friday night, when sports and other matters will be further arranged. It was decided to ask Carterton lo join in with the function.
