ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Alfredton Road Hoard was held on Saturday last, ■ Present; Messrs H, Dihid, (Chairman), J. Boustead, Eli Smith, H. Warron andS. M, George. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed,

The engineer to the Wnirarapa N. 0. Council wrote, stating that plans of Tiraumea bridge had been sent to the Assistant Surveyoi-General on the 7th July. The Department of Lands and Survey advised the Board that in the Land Bill, non-payment of rates would be treated as a breach of conditions;, and subject the occupier to forfeiture. The Clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps to raise the loan of £2500 for Pori road.

Mr Eli Smith was appointed Presiding and Returning Officer foi tho Pori Boad loan,

M, Georgo and Eli Smith was appointed to deal with the matter,It was resolved that Mr Lars Andersen be written to stating that this Board do not hold themselves responsible for any work authorised by Mr Arniboldi or any other settlor, without the'authority of the Board, and decline to pay 'for the twelve and a b'alf day's' work claimed. '' ' The Departments of Land and Survey advised tho Board tuat the Mount Baker and Tirauinea roads would receive considerat'ioij when the, estimates were franjed. A. Olapham wrote re tjjo tpick to hia place and requested a bridge cost T ing £!} and tlio track to be cleared at a cost of abpu. t If,—lt was revived that the Board wijl grant the sura of £lO to erect the bridge and put the track in order, to be paid whoa the rates como in, the work to be done on the road line.

The Clerk was authorised to sue for nil rates in arrear, after ten days' notice.
