Special Meeting of the

Council.

A special meeting of the Miisterton Borough Council, to consider the question of private streets, was hold last (Tuesday) evening, there being present: Crs Heron (in the clinir), Perry, E. Chamberlain, Feist, Dixon and T. Chamberlain,

The Clerk apologised for the absonce of the Mayor, who had stated he waa prepared to draft an Enabling Bill if the Council would fix upon tbe streets it desired taken over. Cr Heron said he did not think the Council could take over tbe whole-of the unmade streets. He would move that the Council go into Committee to discuss the question,

The whole matter was then discussed at considerable length, when resolutions were passed as follows.:— That Sussex-street, Miriam-street,' Hessey-street, Short-street, and the road connecting West Bush Road and Boundary Eoad, having been, constructed by the owners, bo declared public streets by special order upon receipt of tbe petitions prescribed in the Act; that Worksop Road, Albertstreet, and Victoria-street, which have iiovn constructed, bo placed in the schedule of streets to be declared public streets by law. The remaining streets mentioned in the report of the Town Clerk, not being constructed, were passed over. The meeting then adjourned.
