The Conference ant in ministerial session. Tho request of the Rev, E. Boat to become a supernumerary wag regretfully conceded, and it was decided to place upon record the high eenso entertained by tho Conference of the valuable services rendered by him as a minister of tbeChurch, Tließev, J. Crump, through the representations of the Nelson District, also requested to be made a supernumerary. In acceding to the request, the Conference recorded its deep eympathy.yith Mr Crump in the domestic affliction which rendered his request ,-necessary, expressed the hope that L Mrs Crump's health may yet be restored, and recognised Mr Crump's high personal worth, as well as the excellent services he has rendered to tho Church as a minister for 35 years in this Colony, The request of the Rev. R. S. Bunn, to remain a supernumerary for another year, was granted, The Conference then adjourned for luncheon. On resuming at 2.30 p.m., the following committee was set, up to consider tho affairs of the New' Zealand Methodist The Revs, Kishworth, Dukes, F. W. Isitt, G, W. Parsonson, and Spence, and Messrs F, A. White, j T. Allen, Tiller, George, Prudhoe ; j Perryman, and E. C. Brown, The Rev. J. J, Lewis proposed, That one of our ministers be now set apart to act as Secretary to the Home Mission, the Jubilee, tho Church gui Wing a fid Loan Funds; that he be designated the Connexional Secretary, and be instructed to look into needs of growipg and neglected with n, view to the extension the work of God therein, to visit the circuits of the Colony by arrangement with the Chairman of Districts, to conduct servicos for Home Mission or such other objects as may be arranged with the Superintendents of Circuits, and to advise with Ministers and Circuit officials on all matters connected with tho welfare and advancement of tho Church's work. The motion found a seconder in Mr ; Perryman, i}nd a spirited dispussipn ensued! The resolution was supported by the Revs, Baumber, L, M, Isitt, Parsonson, Dewsbury and W. Morley, • and Messrs Perryman, Prudhoe, E. (J, Brown and Blaclcweil. An amendment was proposed by the Rev, .S, Laiyry, and supported byljhe |evs, l>ee, Ejuk'es, fiiahyorth, wd Lee, and Messrs Allen, Manchester, Dixon, M'Masters and W.
