CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.
The adjourned meeting of the Board was hold last Saturday. Present: Messrs Mackay (Chairman), Telford, Langdon, Belliss,'.Williams, and Harvey, Tlio minutes of the previous meeting were read And confirmed. The Treasurer reported a balanco of £272 7s 8d in .the Bank. The Finance Committee recommended the payment of Accounts amounting to £14419 a 7d, which were passed for payment, Tlio Overseer's report was read and considered, and the following letters were read—from tlio Chief Surveyor re cost of map; from Mr J, Wilson re Board's horso damaging his fence; from Taplin & Hcrcock re damage to teams; from Stewart kCo re timber; from Commissioner of Property Tax with return of Crown lands; from Mr Hawkins ro Adam's Peak Road; from Masterton Board re grant of £7O to Blairlogie Eoad; from Mr Schofiold re epairs to main road. It was resolved that the amount of £7O bo paid over to the Masterton Board as soon as this Board receive an undertaking, from the Masterton Board as to their liability to keep Blairlogie Eoad in repair for one year. Shat application be made for rates due on Crown lands, That a sum of £25 bo granted for repairs to the road near Akitio Ferry. That a sum equal to £6 per annum be allowed for grazing and the care of the Board's horse. That the Connty Engineer be requested to forward information re plans and estimates prepared for work to be undertaken under the' Roads and Bridges Construction Act. That this Board request the County Council to make some provision for metalling the unmetalled portion of tho main road between Tinui and Whakataki, and also to metal portions of tho Tinui to Eketahuna line between Tinui and Black Swamp, The following are tho accounts passed for payment —wages, £lls Os 9d; grazing horse,' £2l2s j George Lee, bheksmithing, £2 is 6d; Beard k Gray, 6s 8d; A. McHtitchon, to' pay accounts, £3 14s; H Langdon, rent, £2; H. McGucken, advanco payment, £l4; Tinui Store, £5 2s, The next meeting of tho Board was fixed for Saturday, sth January.
